1. Modest Mouse- Lonesome Crowded West

Top Track(s): Heart Cooks Brain, Out of Gas

2. Every Time I Die- The Big Dirty

I bought this album a while back and never really gave it a chance but when I threw it in the other day I was more than pleased. Its not HOT DAMN!, their face-melting, gut-trashing 2003 drop, but it's great. The notable shift in sound from straight-up brutal metalcore to Southern Rock marks their maturity as a band. Definitely different, but righteous all the same.
Top Tracks(s): No Son of Mine
3. As Tall As Lions- As Tall As Lions

I saw this band years ago when they were called Sundaze at a tiny church in Newburyport, MA. They're so tight...drums, guitars; everything. Original sound. Inspiring jams. Fellas, if you can't land a hunny with this album there is something seriously wrong with you. Great sex jams. I promise.
Top Track(s): Love, Love, Love (Love, Love)
4. Cassino- Sounds of Salvation

Cassino= Northstar- Jake Fisher and Gabe Renfroe. This band is perfect for anytime you need to drive and reflect. Served best during late afternoon.
Top Track(s): ALL OF THEM especially American Low and Platano

5. Owen- At Home with Owen

My favorite singer/songwriter, Mike Kinsella, front man of American Football, hits it so fucking perfectly on this album. A lot softer than the other selections but flawless. A must have for anyone's collection.
Top Track(s): A Bird in Hand
